I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.

Our Next Mission!

I read recently that if you are going to own an RV you need to either be rich or handy.  Well since we are not the former monetarily, we have to be the later!

Now that the noise elimination mission has been completed, it is time for the smell elimination mission to begin. When we weren't being driven crazy by the noise of our rig going down the road, we had a foul smell that filled the the motorhome to help take our minds off of the noise.

I did a little research and found the Cyclone Vent that claims it will remove all of those wonderful odors that tend to fill our rig.  So the following was my installation of Cyclone Vent...we will let you know if it really works.

  1. Had them on our old trailer and planning on putting them on our new trailer. They work! Going down the road they take away the odorcoming from the tank. Sitting still with a breeze you have no odors in your rig but if your downwind neighbour is too close he might not appreciate them as much.

    It's about time.

  2. Rick - I sure hope so...I am also going to replace the vents under each of the sinks tomorrow and hopefully all the smells will be gone!

  3. Those cyclone vents really work. Had one on our old motorhome. Haven't put one on this RV yet, but we will.

    1. Michael - I sure hope so. I am also going to replace the vents under both sinks today based on a recommendation that I received from RV.Net. I am hoping the combination of the two will do the trick!

  4. We did the roof vents to and really helped.
We still had sewer gas after we dumped our tanks, espescially when moving the coach afterwards. With a few tests I found that the traps in the sinks and shower had been siphoned empty from draining the grey tank A few cups of water down each sink and the shower has solved the sewer gas problem completely now.

    1. Thanks for that information George - I replaced the vents under the sinks today. I normally dump when we get home, but we still have a noticeable smell when driving. I am hoping the combination of the new outside Cyclone vent along with the two under the sink vents will make a difference on our next trip.
