My Sunday Route |
What A Beautiful Day! |
Several people inquired about my using floor wax on Iris and how it actually worked. I will tell you that there is much controversy regarding this process and I would never recommend it on a nice rig that still has a shine, but for our 20 year old rig that was badly oxidized with terribly faded graphics, I can't tell you what a difference it made for us.
I follow RV.net and it has been a great source of information over the years. I found the Red Max Pro Process and followed it. It took me almost two days, but it was well worth the time and effort. I have noticed that the side facing the sun does not do as well as the shaded side and has to be reapplied from time to time, but overall, we are very happy with the results.
Red Max Pro is no longer available, it has been replaced by Zep Wet Look, which costs almost double. I bought the last gallon of Red Max Pro at Lowe's last summer and have not seen it since.
Again, I am not recommending this process on new rigs, but it has been great for our very senior Iris, which had sat out in the hot desert sun in Casa Grand, Arizona for years.
Thanks for the visit, I hope your week is off to a great start and we are looking forward to some rest and relaxation this weekend at Cave Creek Campground.
Sure hope the sun decides to come out for your week-end. Can't believe how lousy Wednesday is going to be.

If you want to permanently redo your roof first, check this product out (from the makers of Liquid Roof but much cheaper when obtained factory direct). Five gal pail of EPDM Liquid Rubber does a 30' motorhome. Mask all the way around, mix 1/2, apply, then do second half. You can't beat a new roof for $315 and a day's work!

My husband had a very old pickup that he loved, but had seen better days. He used Pledge furniture polish on it and all the guys ribbed him about it.
ReplyDeleteThe sun and UV rays are the number one killer or finishes. So you do what you have to do , glad it works for you.
ReplyDeletewhat is the name of that app on your iPhone that tracks where you are walking?
ReplyDeleteBJ - The application is MapMyRUN, it is a free app and it works great.
DeleteIt sure seems that the waxing solution you chose works well. Well done research too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for explaining the floor wax and how it worked for you. Whatever works seems to be the solution to washing and waxing.
ReplyDeleteI like the app! I have a droid, so use RunKeeper. It doesn't do the map, that would be cool :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rick, whatever works. I use a good car was on mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the waxing tip! from an owner of an older RV :)
ReplyDelete(need to be careful how I worded that... almost wrote from an old rv owner, haha)
Sunny - Its not for everyone, but it sure made a difference in our old rig!
DeleteSure hope you have great weather this weekend. We got plenty of snow today in Tucson. Have fun!....Ingrid
ReplyDeleteIngrid - Saw that you guys moved on to Tucson, hope it warms up down there soon and we are hoping for sunshine in Cave Creek this weekend!
