Well I have fought it for the last six months, but I have finally succumbed to the crud that many of you have posted about for many months. I had meetings yesterday that I couldn't miss, so I survived on DayQuil and cough drops, but after coughing all night and waking up with a fever, I decided today was the day to stay home and knock this thing out, once and for all, I hope!
Tracy and I had a wonderful Saturday at Cave Creek Regional Park, taking hikes and enjoying the sunshine. But that all changed Sunday morning about 1:30am when the wind kicked in with a vengeance and started blowing Iris and everything in our camp around.
Just about the time we would fall back to sleep, the wind would blow moving Iris side to side, waking us back up. Finally around 6:00am, we decided enough was enough and we showered and packed up to head home. I bundled up as I took up the stabilizer jacks and hooked up the tin can for the ride home. By the time I was done, my hands were red and frozen and we were looking forward to getting back to our sticks and bricks for the afternoon to warm up.
Mike, from Mello Mike's Truck Camper Adventures outlined a fan installation that solved his refrigerator cooling challenge during the summer. Looks like a simple solution that I am going to give a try, because our refrigerator always struggles during the hotter months, so it is worth a shot.
I want to welcome New Age Nomad as our 75th follower...welcome aboard and thanks for joining us.
I hope that your week is going well and that you are not caught up in any of those wild storms that are out there. Enjoy your week and be safe out there!
I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.
We are used to that rockin and rolling after 7 years on the road, kinda like being on a cruise ship in rough seas.
ReplyDeleteHope your cold clears up soon for you.
We're like George and Suzie - we've pretty much gotten used to all the movement in the wind. I don't fall apart like I did at first. But it's still not fun. Sure hope you feel better. Jim fought the stuff for over a week.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're not feeling well...hope you're over it soon. We had some wind last night too but it was pretty mild compared to yours.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better by now. Glad to hear you had a great time at the park on Saturday though.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about you getting the crud. It's a nasty one. I had it last month. Not fun. Rest, rest, rest.
ReplyDeleteSo far we've missed the crud here in northern CA. Hope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteSometimes that wind can really rock you around. Hope you get to feeling better soon. It's certainly not fun to be sick.
ReplyDeleteWishing a speedy recovery. I only like shaking rides at the amusment park!
ReplyDeleteHope your feeling better by now. I don't know how I missed this post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the well wishes for a speedy recovery, this cold just seems to hang on and I have heard from several people that the cough can go on for weeks. I hope that is not the case with me. Maybe the 80 degree weather this weekend will knock it out!
ReplyDeleteHope you get well soon. The weekend is almost upon us and who wants to be sick then. :)http://newrealmadventures.blogspot.com/2013/02/3000-page-views-this-month-thank-you.html
