Well we just got back from Hawaii on Friday and we are off again today to Portland Oregon to visit our daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Randy.
We had a fairly smooth flight, but didn't appreciate the welcoming party that we received once we got our rental car and headed down I-5 South. As you can see below, there was wall to wall traffic that extended our commute to Lake Oswego by at least an hour.
We had a nice dinner at P.F. Chang's and we are off to hike the kid's favorite trails tomorrow, followed by a BBQ with Randy's family. Should be a great day in the sunshine and cooler weather.
Hope your Labor Day weekend is safe and enjoyable and thanks for the visit!
I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.
Those kind of welcoming parties are not much fun. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend too.
ReplyDeleteNasty looking traffic jam for sure. Enjoy the long weekend with your family. The weather looks to be good.
ReplyDeleteLove that header pic from Paradise!
Friday of Labor Day weekend...oh the joys. We had horrible traffic in Texas at Waco, Temple, and San Antonio on Friday. See my blog at http://travelbug-susan.blogspot.com for details. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you enjoyed Hawaii. We lived on Oahu for five years and loved to take guests to Turtle Bay.
We celebrated our anniversary one year at the restaurant on the beach there. Wonderful experience.
Our son lives in Lake Oswego, in a neighborhood right behind the Mormon Temple. Small world.
For hiking, I hope you're going to the Columbia River Gorge or Silver Falls State Park. Can't wait to read about your Portland-area adventures. (Oregon was our home for over 30 years.)
Enjoy! Maybe we'll get to meet on down the road.
Susan
We loved the restaurant on the beach at Turtle Bay and we walked by the Mormon Temple yesterday. Unfortunately no turtles at Turtle Bay, very disappointing.
DeleteYup, that looks like Portland traffic!!
