As many of you know, our rig is a vintage 1993 Tioga that has all of the wonderful color schemes that were used during the early 90's. On the inside, those colors included blue seats and cushions and a wonderful pink carpet. Pink and blue, what were they thinking, or what were they smoking when they came up with that color combination?
On my list of things to do is to either replace the carpet with a more modern colored carpet or wood flooring. I have heard pros and cons on both, so rather than taking any immediate action, I have been waiting for a vision to enter my mind that will get my body moving to solve this dilemma. In the meantime, I will use our newly purchased rug cleaner to at least ensure that our ugly carpet is clean!
I would take some before and after pictures, but frankly there is not that much difference between the two versions, so I won't waste your time with that...ugly is ugly I'm afraid.:(
Shortly after I posted this, Jeannie and Eldy commented that they would like to see what our 90's rig looked like inside, so you can blame them...

The good news is that I did sleep out in the rig on Saturday night to test out our new Perfect Harmony mattress topper and it was very comfortable. I didn't wake up with my normal hip and lower back pain, so that it always good. We will give it a longer test drive this weekend and may decide to purchase the same topper for our home bed.
I want to welcome our most recent follower richardr to the group. It does not appear that Richard has his own blog that I can point you to, but it does appear that he has joined several RV blogs lately, so he might be gathering some info on this great way of life. Anyway, welcome aboard Richard and thanks for joining us.
Thank you all for the visit and enjoy the rest of your week. Be safe out there!
Always interesting to hear someone else's stories! I'd love to see what the nineties looked like in a motorhome. Hope you'll reconsider!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...pink and blue? Maybe it was a special order for someone expecting a baby who didn't know if it was a boy or a girl??
ReplyDeleteThe color schemes do date a rig and ours too, but we can live with ours at least its only beige and brown, just gotta keep it clean. New flooring we have debating almost 7 years, still have not decided.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had water damage to the floor of our fiver, I tore out all the carpet except for what was in the slide and not over damaged wood, and then after I replaced all the floor wood with 3/4 in Marine plywood and then got a laminate floor to put over that. Talk about nice and sturdy and good looking and it will be easier to repair if ever there is any other water damage. If you want to see what it looks like e-mail me and i will send you a picture as an attachment to the reply.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..
ReplyDeletePink carpet? Ugh! Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's pink and blue so both the boys and the girls feel represented hahahaha!! Ah come on, show us the uglies.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see an attractive carpet in an RV. Ours has a horrible sickly gray. Throw rugs are the only solution. At least our tile is acceptable and easy to clean.
ReplyDeleteOh my, pink & blue. Better than olive green and gold though :)
ReplyDeleteI thought our green (and I don't even know what color green to call it) carpet was bad but pink. I really think I'd have to have Jim do something about that. And I do thinking "smoking something" definitely was going on in the 90's.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have missed a few posts. Yes the heat plays havoc with clue and other trim. Your stained glass window is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSara seems to have enjoyed your trip to Lake Havasu. I went there many years ago but in Oct. Nice time of year for that trip.
Pink carpet! I have to agree about them smoking something with that color. Or maybe some one else put it in. But its clean!
Clean but still ugly? That's what I always say after washing my face and looking in the mirror.
