Tracy and I both commented that we really relaxed this weekend on our camping trip. I think because the weather was a little hot, we spent more time reading, napping and even watching the golf tournament on TV.
After our close encounter with the rattlesnake, we kept pretty close to our campsite, which I think also contributed to our relaxation. Although I normally enjoy our time away, it was a little more difficult to head back to the routine this time, so much so that I have to admit that I was a little envious of the fulltimers on either side of us.
Kind of sad that our local outings will be coming to an end very soon and we are hoping to get one or two more trips in before we can fry eggs on the sidewalk here in Arizona.L
I hope you are enjoying your day and I want to take this opportunity to warmly welcome Gail Durham and Jim and Judy along for the ride. In reading their blogs, they are some of those fulltimers J that I was a little envious of...welcome aboard!

I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.
Yes hanging around fulltimers really make you envious and think a lot!
ReplyDeleteSeven years ago we were in Niagara falls New York for a weekend at end of October. Sunday we are packing up to go back home to work thru the cold winter months, most of the others are packing up to head south for the winter, hmmm.... can we do this too?
My wife and I worked on a plan so we would not have to spend another cold winter in Canada, come May we had a plan. If we sell the house, quit work, we can live on our investments and run away. We did that in 2006 and have not looked back, I was 56 and Suzie 49. Goes to show you that if you want it bad enough you can do it.

DeleteTracy and I can only dream at this point...we are thinking that we are still 15 years away from retirement especially with this current economy!
Fulltiming is something we dreamed about -- in Oct '09, we sold our house just in the nick of time for hubby to be laid off his job in Dec. We hit the road and never looked back. You never know what tomorrow will bring. We don't have a ton of money, but we workamp and are amazed at the things out there one can do!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn - Thanks for your perspective...I had a aunt and uncle who always dreamed of retiring and hitting the road and unfortunately due to illness and premature deaths they never had the opportunity. Tracy and I are really trying to plan things out to ensure that we don't face a similar situation.
DeleteWe migrate south from Michigan all winter, usually 6 to 7 months.Gonna work on fulltimeing this year.Joined workampers and have researched it well.It sounds entirely possible to travel for free.Enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback and glad to see your Tioga is still on the road...take care and safe travels.
