Although it was warm and the wind kicked up in the afternoon, we were able to keep cool by keeping the door and windows open and by running our fantastic fans.

Sandie, of Where Are The Dixons Today? said that their friends Ginny and Mickey would be camping in the park and that we should look them up. Sandie described their rig, so we planned to locate it once we arrived.
Low and behold, we backed into our spot and looked directly across the street, to see a rig just as Sandie had described it and a personalized license plate that read "Gin Mic", could it be them?
Sure enough it was and we had a great conversation with them about their six years as hosts at McDowell Mountain Park, including following the fire that threatened to destroy the park many years ago. What a great couple with lots of wonderful life experiences, it is no doubt to us why Sandie and Jim enjoy their company so much. We hope to connect with them again on one of our future trips.
Warm and windy here today, a wall of dust is heading up from the south and we are glad that we are back in our sticks and bricks for the week.
I have been enjoying reading the blogs of Al and Kelly, Rene and Jeanette, Trent and Teresa, Rick and Paulette, George and Suzie and others as they make their treks toward Canada. Safe travels to you all and thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Thanks to all of you for stopping by, enjoy your week and be safe out there!
We are very glad that you had a wonderful weekend with the love of your life.
ReplyDeleteNothing like getting away from it all, to appreciate each other.
It sure is a small world. Teresa and I bumped into quite a few coincidences this winter.
thank you for following us and for your best wishes !!
Take care ... Tnt
Gotta love those great weekends camping hope you get more in.
ReplyDeleteIts always nice to run into acquaintances along the way too.
Looks like we left the southwest just in time to avoid the rattlers - watch out for those guys down there!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great weekend and met up with some new friends.
Meeting folks is one of those special aspects with the RV life. Sure sounds like a nice visit was had.
ReplyDeleteJeanette hates snakes....and I mean really hates snakes! That we are away from the desert now is very pleasing to her.
It's good to be back home....but we already look forward to planning for next year's winter desert journey.
Glad you got to meet Ginny and Mickey. But what's sad is that you've met them but we have yet to get together. One of these days.
ReplyDeleteSandie - We agree that we need to get together, are you guys here throughout the summer? We would be happy to come down your way if that works for you.
DeleteLooks like really wild country there. Must be more than a couple of rattlers in the brush.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you, I wouldn't want to encounter a rattler out there :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you missed the winds on your weekend trip. It was a bad one.
ReplyDeleteI was getting ready to take off this Sunday but winds up North are going to be awful. So I had to push my departure back to Wed.
It is fun meeting other bloggers I have met a few and enjoyed their company.Maybe if you and Tracy have a long weekend or a week off you can come up to the White Mountains and enjoy the coolness.
