I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.

We Graduated!

Tracy and I have been taking Financial Peace University (FPU) at our church over the last nine weeks and we graduated last night! Sad to say that our class started with over 100 people nine weeks ago and class attendance has dropped each week, with about 60 people graduating last night. I know FPU is not for everyone, but it sure has positively changed our life.

We have been following the FPU Baby Steps for about two years, but had never gone through the class, so it was fun to actually go through the official process.

The FPU Baby Steps are as follows:

I just wish Tracy and I would have found FPU 30 years ago, because by now, we would have certainly been at Baby Step 7.  As it is, we are working on Baby Step 6 and hope to have our house paid off in the next 5 years, if not sooner!

We are so happy to be able to share these steps with our kids and they really seem to be adopting them.  With the economy being tougher and tougher to make ends meet, it is our hope and prayer that these steps will help them to realize their future dreams.

I hope you are enjoying your dreams, have a great weekend and thanks for the visit!

  2. Congrats, and its a good thing to share this information with your kids. My late husband and I made a lot of financial mistakes and its hard to play catch up later on.

  5. Dave's FPU and his plan are super! My husband and I listened to his radio program every day in the truck (semi) inthe early 2000 years. it is because of this that when my sweet hubby died he left me with no dept and alot of assets, enabling me to live debt free and to be a blessing to others. you won't regret following his plan. Best to your family!

  6. Fortunately, our Pastor laid out some sound principles for us at our marriage classes 30 years ago !!

I have always been interested in personal finance, which is probably why we were able to retire at 50.

Glad your kids are listening because ours sure don't ... lol. I cringe at their spending.

I am not sure if you have found Mr. Money Moustache's blog, but it is excellent.

He and his wife reached financial independence in their 30's, and his website is well written.

    Take care ... TnT

  10. Congratulations on the graduation, I too found Dave late, but I had been following his plan without even knowing about it. Out of debt was the major milestone.
