Well our trip to La Quinta over the weekend was great and now it is time to buckle down to what I know will be a quick and active week as we prepare for Christmas.
As part of this eventful week, I had a dentist's appointment for fillings on two of my front teeth, thus the title of today's post. My dentist's team are probably the most aggressive sales people that I know.
I grind my teeth at night, so many of them are cracked and need to be replaced with crowns. As a result, every time I open my mouth at the dentist's office, he sees dollar signs.
I tend to put him off as much as possible during the year, but I had a few dollars left in my dental insurance plan, so I figured I better treat myself to a couple of fillings to not lose out on this money.
As soon as I was done, the dental assistant started asking me about what I wanted to get done next, so we are off to the races for the new year...oh what fun!
I want to welcome Brandon Esparza of It's Time to Unwind as our latest follower, welcome aboard Brandon!
With that I am going to carefully eat my lunch and hope that my numb mouth and lip gets its feeling back soon. I hope your week before Christmas is going great and thanks for stopping by!
I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.

Here's a napkin, now wipe off that drool!!! I can laugh cuz I have been having some dental work done lately. No insurance but they are still happy to take my money.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love is when the Dentist and his assistant both have their hands in my mouth along with what feels like 15 instruments and they ask me a question.
DeleteBeing that I grind my teeth at night when sleeping I had a mouth piece made at the dentist that I nicknamed my Chew Toy. It was not covered by any health plan $$$$$ but has stopped the wear on my teeth. Our grandson being in sports is required to wear a mouth guard that also protects his teeth $. When my mouth piece wears out I plan on trying one from the sports shop. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
Rick - I have one too that I call my "bit" and I have to confess that I don't like wearing it, so I skip a few nights each week. Mine was not covered by insurance either, so it was big bucks too!
DeleteMy turn is coming in January and I'm pretty sure my dentist has a mortgage, too.
ReplyDeleteI turned 65 so dental isn't part of medicare.. So tossed out by the old plan and signing up for a new one that has a years wait. But the broken teeth need fixed now, so my Mesa dentist was glad to take my money! And I hate that cotton mouth feeling while the stuff wears off... but that will only take about six hours..
ReplyDeleteAt least the freezing should be gone by the time you sit down for Christmas Dinner! I hate going to the Dentist - the sound of the drills makes me shiver!
ReplyDeleteAHHH the good old dentist. I think they now drive hummers,BMW, Caddys and have large homes with pool, spays, maids, butlers, etc, etc.
ReplyDeleteI better get a move on with my shopping sounds like we are in for a cold week here in Tucson.
Make use of that dental plan while you have it, none left for us anymore now.
ReplyDelete"All you want for Christmas is your two front teeth, your two front teeth, yes your two front teeth!" Think of the song! I was signing it instantly.
ReplyDeleteJust had my yearly exam. No work needed! Yea to that!
NO! Don't eat until your ... oh, too late.
