I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.

A Visit To The Indianapolis Speedway!

Well I left Scottsdale on Tuesday morning at 100+ degree temps and landed in Indianapolis to clouds, rain and 61 degrees...heaven!

The nice thing about owning your own company is that you can often mix a little pleasure with business.

After two days of client meetings, I found myself with about five hours of free time before my flight home.

A business associate happened to be in town visiting family and had some free time as well, so we met at the Indianapolis Speedway Museum for a quick visit and then off to lunch...of course.

It cost us $5 each to get in, and they offered us a great tour of the facilities and track for $25, but we didn't have the time to do that, this visit.

So, we took a self tour of the museum, watched a short movie, spent some money in the gift shop for a souvenir mug and pen and then it was off to Dawsons On Main for a tasty Cobb Salad.

My flight was bumpy from start to finish, but I am home now, thankfully.

The good news is that I had a productive and fun business trip and the weekend is almost here. Hope your week is going well and thanks for stopping by for the visit!

  1. When I was driving for Trailways I took a charter of car parts dealers to Indy for the 500 tryouts, parked with the back of the bus against a fence and went to the second floor of the part suites, each one had the requisite bar, and buffet and a balcony 18 feet above the track where Indy cars were qualifying at 220 mph, they had ear plugs at the door as the noise was deafening, I called Donna at work and said listen this this. A note of interest was all the cars that year were powered with Honda engines. It really was quite a day for a motorhead. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

  4. Too bad you couldn't have gone for a 200 mph spin around the brickyard.
