I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.

Blogging

I really enjoy reading the many blogs that I follow each day, catching up on all of your adventures, especially when ours aren't especially exciting.

This morning, I read with great interest, Tammy Fletcher's Blog, where she outlined their reasons for going full-time. Their reasons are much the same as ours, we are just unfortunately about 15 years, or so, away from doing it. :-(

I also read with sadness this week that Mike and Pat are suspending their blog for some unknown period of time.  I have sure enjoyed following their adventures between their homes in Arizona and South Dakota.  I am sure hoping that Mike will fire his blog back up in the near future, but I certainly understand that from time to time, that a break is good.  Mike and Pat, we wish you Godspeed and safe travels and look forward to reading your blog again soon!

I have had similar thoughts over the last few months regarding our blog.  We don't have too much exciting to report right now, other than just living our day to day life, but I am always looking for something that might be of interest.

So for now, I will live vicariously through all of your adventures and will keep adding to our list of the many places that we will visit in the future, based on all of your recommendations.

Thanks for the visit, enjoy the rest of your week and be safe out there!

  1. I well know how hard it is unless you are blessed to be a prolific writer to keep a daily blog or journal going when your sitting at home counting the days for a trip to start.I sometime take a break for a day when I have a mental block, like I did yesterday, but I too like to hear what others are doing in their lives, I have slowed down on commenting but If I can contribute something I do, hang in there, we all enjoy hearing from you..Sam & Donna...

  2. Not necessary to write daily. Even while fulltiming, we average about 10 a month.

  3. I am finding blogging a strange kind of venue because it is quite a bit like writing a composition back in school that you had two weeks to do it and struggle to make it on time. Maybe it's the type of career I had being a Welder where I spent most of my time with questions running through my head that only in my mind could they be answered.

When Kathy suggested that I write our blog I thought I'd never be able to do this daily but for some reason I am able to write about the simplest things and make them sound practical and interesting to myself and many others.

Too bad we didn't have computers and blogs back when I was in school. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  4. There is just no way I can write a post everyday when we really aren't doing anything. I'm not a write to begin with so I post when and if. When we're actually going somewhere it's much easier to find something to blog about but then I don't have the time to do it. Vicious circle. But like you, I love reading the blogs even though I get behind on that also.

  5. You don't have to publish a regular blog to take advantage of reading or commenting on the blogs of others! Just take a look at mine as living proof of that fact! Blogs are personal and don't come with commitment to others, only to yourself. When it becomes a task you do for someone else, the fun is gone out of it! I ran into that with my blog... thus the absence.

Enjoy your planning for the trips to come!

  6. I agree. It sometimes very difficult to write a blog. I can only do the daily ones when we're running around all the time and I have something to write about. However, then it's hard too because I don't have time to write. I wish the daily writers would skip a day. It'd be easier to keep up with everyone then. Just write when you want and we'll read it.

  7. For us the Blog is lie a diary of our life that we can come back and refer to whatever we did.
Posting it daily is a routine that I put into my day. If I don't do it daily , I forget some things, then to get caught up is overwhelming. You do whats right for you.

  8. Exactly what they all said. When we were preparing for our full time life, I didn't have a lot to say unless it was blogging about those preparations. Once we hit the road there was something to say almost every day. Now that we are workamping for 4 months, daily blogging can be very mundane :)
