I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. We are blessed to live in Scottsdale Arizona and are enjoying getting out and experiencing it in our RV! Thanks for stopping by our blog and please consider joining us, who knows where we will go...Kevin & Tracy.

On The Road Again!

Things are starting to heat up here in Arizona, so it is now necessary to go farther away when wanting to camp and escape the heat.

We have reservations at Lynx Lake in Prescott AZ this weekend with three other couples who will be meeting us up there tomorrow.  Lynx Lake has no hookups, so we will be boondocking this weekend for the very first time, wish us luck!

I know that many of you reading this boondock often, so I won't whine too much, but this weekend should be very interesting with no electricity and only limited water for showers (hey everyone needs some alone time).

We don't know two of the couples we are going with, so we hope to establish some new friendships over this weekend, while enjoying the cooler weather in Prescott.

We will be pulling our Suzuki Sidekick for the first distance trip, so that we can explore the area once we arrive.  I will let you all know how that works out when we get back.

So we are excitedly packing for what we hope will be a great weekend and hope to hit the road around noon tomorrow, as long as Tracy can sneak away from work.

I noticed that we picked up our 80th follower, but I don't see any information for them, so I can't welcome them aboard by name.  I am presuming that they joined anonymously, but I may be wrong. Anyway, thanks for joining our adventure and thanks to all of you for stopping by for a visit.  I hope your weekend is safe and enjoyable!

  2. I hope to be heading north tomorrow too, but I'm in no rush to get to Tamarac NWR as they still have 30" of snow on the ground. :P

    Good luck with the boondocking!

  5. You really don't need to do much water conservation if you're only going to be for the week-end. So enjoy your showers. And watching the temps, you should be nice and cool up that way. I hope you enjoy boondocking. I don't want to do it for months but it sure does open up some great opportunities for camping for you. Have fun.

  9. Looking forward to reading about your experience with boondocking. Heard so much about others doing it and hope to be able to try it ourselves once we get on the road next year. Sounds like you will have a great weekend meeting new friends. This is exactly what we hope to do once we make the transition from work life to full time. Enjoy Curt

  10. Thank you all for the great comments, Tracy and I were trying to figure out what we won't be able to use without electricity, like my coffee maker and Tracy's curling iron. I will just use my french press for coffee in the morning, but I may have to fire up the generator for the curling iron, Tracy can only rough it so much. :)
