I have been enjoying visiting blogs and decided to start my own, even though I don't know what I am doing or if anyone will even be interested in reading what I have to say. I am a 50 year old management consultant who has been married to the the love of my life for 30 years and have two grown daughters and a son-in-law who we are very proud of. Hitched!

Well the weather here in Arizona has been getting colder each day and it is supposed to be freezing this weekend.

With that in mind, I decided that I needed to get my projects done today to avoid the discomfort of working with frozen hands.

I mentioned in my prior post that I wanted to install a hitch on the Tin Can for use with our new bike rack. So I rushed home and began the project that supposedly was to take 30 minutes according to the instructions.

All four bolts that I needed to remove from the rear bumper guard were frozen and two would not budge. I used penetrating oil and was finally able to get the two tough ones to break loose.

Two hours later, the hitch was installed, the new bike rack was put together and attached and we were go to go!

So with my project done I will spend the weekend watching football and staying warm, hopefully you are doing the same and thanks for the visit!

  1. I've never accomplish a 30 minute project in the allotted time, I'm looking for the person who has.

  2. We bought a bike rack at Harbor Freight and were excited because in the box it looked great. However, now we wised we had waited. It's lightweight and tinny. Oh well ... another item we saved bucks on that we need to replace.

    1. I looked at the Harbor Freight bike rack, but when I read the reviews I was not impressed. I bought this one at Walmart for $79 and it appears to be well made. We will know in a couple of weeks when we head out camping!

  3. Ya, that thirty minute thing? Forget it.
At least you were working under cover, even though it wasn't heated. Always helps.

  5. Glad it worked out for you, but if you develop a sway problem with Tin Can in tow consider my previous suggestion. Be Safe and Enjoy!

We're having to use the AC to cool the trailer because of the humidity.

    It's about time

    1. Rick - Thanks for the warning, we wanted to have the bike rack on the Tin Can so we can have our bikes available when we are out exploring. We will be taking it out in a couple of weeks, so I will keep my eyes peeled for any sway problems.

  6. Glad you got your rack mounted, even if it took a little longer than expected. These things usually do. You are right about the freezing cold here in AZ! Back in PA they had 61* today! Something wrong with this picture, LOL.

  7. Only two hours for a 30 min. job? I'd say that's pretty good! Anyway, nice that you have a way to tote the bikes.

  8. Ha, Ha, ya, that 30 minute thing !!

I installed the tow brackets on our Sunfire. Directions said about 8 hours. Well, two full days later I was admiring my work ... lol.

I was just thinking that you obviously are pretty good at mechanical things. Trust me, this will come in handy in your RV'ing life !!

    Take care ... TnT
